On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, we hosted an Open House for customers, friends, family, and members of the community to celebrate our customers, check out the upfit of our new space and equipment, and participate in the dedication of Space for Good at BaySix. In 2021 we embarked on a capital improvement plan and were also awarded a small business upfit grant from the city. This allowed us to expand our current workspace as well as create Space for Good.

We are thrilled to finally be able to open up Space for Good to local nonprofit and community organizations in an effort to help move their missions and impacts forward. With 625 square feet of shared working space and managed like a co-working space with a membership and booking app, the use of the space will be donated to nonprofits to hold meetings, small events, planning and work time, etc.

We could not be more grateful to everyone that showed up! The event was a great success—and we were thrilled to debut the new space to all who attended. A special thank you to some fellow philanthropic business owners, who also serve the non-profit community through their for-profit businesses. Lynn Sears with Sears Contract, Inc., donated the interior walls and dropped ceiling; Gretchen Coley, founder of the Coley Group, sponsored the hospitality corner; and JP Maloney with Raleigh Founded, who consulted and connected us with contacts like CoWorks, the coworking space management software for the booking app for the logistical side.

If you want more information about how you can get involved, please contact Katherine Garcia at katherine@wearebaysix.com.
